Welcome to the Southern Miniature Bull Terrier Club (Proposed)

We formed in 1997 the Southern Miniature Bull Terrier Club to offer a valuable support structure to our expanding membership.

Representing a network of MBT enthusiasts not only based in the south of England, but nationwide, in mainland Europe and the United States, we communicate to you regularly through our monthly newsletters and bring our members together for our annual companion dog show.

We offer a ‘community’ where news and views on our unique breed can be shared. The SMBT club operates under Kennel Club rules and regulations and continues to pursue Kennel Club recognition.

A spectrum of issues are communicated through our members’ own experiences from health, training, behaviour, the show ring and much more. We welcome your news and photos, which can be posted onto this site, or sent to our Treasurer Zelda Lewis for inclusion into our newsletters. (Details on the contact page)

As a very determined breed, our experienced Committee is always available to offer advice to breeders and pet owners alike.

Our annual Companion Dog Show offers the chance for all our members to get together and is pivotal to our fundraising activity for both the Animal Health Trust and Bull Terrier Welfare.

As supporters of the Kennel Club’s GCDS, we offer Bronze Awards testing at our Annual Companion Dog Show. The show is open to all breeds and has built a reputation as a fun day out. It also offers pedigree and novelty classes, plus dedicated MBT classes where Members can compete for the coveted “Best MBT in Show” award.

Conscious of the many health problems that affect MBTs we donate funds to The Animal Health Trust for research into issues that affect MBT– particularly into Primary Lens Luxation (PLL). (Please see health pages)
